The Silver Shadow incoprated more changes than any previous Rolls-Royce. It had a rear suspension layout bought from Citroen and modified, which allowed the car to rise and fall according to load. It was the first Rolls Royce to employ disc brakes, long after everyone else had adopted them, because the engineers would not tolerate the squeal which discs were apt to make. The new Shadow was faster and better in every way, with fuel consumption of 12miles to the gallon. Later cars were developments of the Shadow, like the Corniche and Camargue, and then in 1980 the Silver Spirit and the long wheel base Silver Spur. Rolls Royce still maintain their position by providing unmatched product for its purpose. The traditional and still one of the very best and reliable wedding cars available.
